CHRISTMAS 2023
I
hardly dare say this but barring disasters we are cruising towards a
relatively normal Christmas here at the butchers! Such a statement really
is tempting fate but after the last few years it’s nice to be
able to plan ahead with a degree of certainty.
Supplies generally are good, most things have crept up in price this
year but pleasantly one or two items (Geese – which were terribly
expensive last year, and Turkey Crowns – our most popular Christmas
product) have fallen in price which is most welcome.
That said, supplies are naturally limited so do think about ordering
soon.
We have plenty of Turkeys reserved and don’t anticipate any problems
with them, similarly pork and lamb is plentiful and freely available.
Beef however is a different story; as many of you know we only sell
Scottish beef, this comes down to us weekly and is Dry Aged for a further
35 days so you are typically buying 40 Day Dry Aged Aberdeen Angus.
This process is very traditional, quite special and cannot be rushed.
So once our correctly matured beef is gone – it’s gone!
We simply cannot get any more. So seriously, if you want this beef for
Christmas do get your orders in.
